Reminders
1.To further ensure animal welfare, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is piloting a rotational rest system for its resident animals. No. 6 Giant Panda Villa, an area with consistently high visitor traffic, will be closed every Monday (excluding national statutory holidays) for management purposes. During closure periods, this area will be temporarily inaccessible to visitors. We kindly advise visitors to plan their itineraries accordingly.
2.Chengdu Giant Panda Museum is closed every Monday for maintenance (excluding national statutory holidays). Visitors are advised to make reservations in advance through the official WeChat account of “Chengdu Giant Panda Museum”. Panda Tower is closed every Tuesday for maintenance (excluding national statutory holidays) and may be temporarily closed during inclement weather. Panda Art Museum is closed every Monday for maintenance (excluding national statutory holidays). 
3.Safety first. The elderly, young children, expectant mothers, people with impaired mobility must be accompanied by adults during visiting. Please keep your belongings attended; Mosquito repellent is needed if necessary. Please keep at least three-meter distance from free-range animals and red pandas on an entry-type tour during visit. Please do not sit or stand on the railings and other dangerous places, and do not climb over guardrails.
 

Notice for Visitors

I. Please be advised that due to severe weather, animal care needs, facility maintenance, or park management requirements, certain areas may be temporarily closed, or some animals may not be visible during your visit. We appreciate your understanding.

II. Please observe public order and customs, maintain a smooth visiting order, and ensure the safety of animals. The following behaviors are prohibited during your visit to the Panda Base:

1. Bringing hazardous items into the park; smoking or using open flames;

2. Making loud noises or using camera flashes;

3. Throwing objects, spitting, or feeding animals in animal activity areas;

4. Quarreling, fighting, cutting in line, or verbally abusing staff;

5. Distributing or posting advertisements, displaying unauthorized banners, or selling merchandise;

6. Bringing or using drones, roller skates, skateboards, scooters, self-balancing vehicles, or bicycles;

7. Trampling on lawns, picking plants, or scribbling or carving on surfaces;

8. Bringing pets such as cats or dogs into the park; guide dogs for visually impaired people are allowed only with a valid Dog Registration Card, Vaccination Certificate, and Guide Dog Certificate, must be accompanied by security personnel at all times, and must be kept at least 10 meters away from animal activity areas;

9. Engaging in paid tour guide or interpretation services without a valid license or official assignment;

10. Conducting flash mobs, panda birthday celebrations, or other activities that may disturb other visitors without prior permission from the park;

11. Conducting live streaming or commercial photography without the park’s authorization;

12. Any other behaviors that endanger animal safety, disrupt normal park operations, intentionally damage park facilities or equipment, or violate public order and customs.

The Panda Base has established a management mechanism for uncivilized behavior within the scenic area. Any actions that violate the above order and regulations, disrupt normal park operations, or pose threats to the safety of park animals (including but not limited to those listed in the visitation notice) will, upon verification, be subject to management measures based on the severity of the behavior. These measures may include criticism and education, immediate intervention and cessation, prohibition of entry (up to a permanent ban), or referral to law enforcement authorities.

III. The Panda Base and its authorized institutions reserve the right to reasonably use visitors’ likeness within the limits permitted by law.

Tourist Center Opening Hours

West and South Gate Tourist Centres Opening Hours: 7:30-18:00 from March to October; 8:00-17:30 from November to February. For luggage retrieval, return of visitor convenience facilities, or other services during non-business hours, please call the on-duty staff or seek assistance from on-site security personnel.

We provide various services: enquiry & complaint acceptance by onsite staff; promptly addressing your questions and feedback; free luggage storage; free rental services for strollers, wheelchairs, umbrellas, walking sticks, and other visitor convenience facilities; lost & found.
For questions about visitor convenience facility usage or service procedures, our staff will provide step-by-step guidance to ensure smooth access, allowing you to fully enjoy your visit, experience our considerate care, and have a pleasant journey.

Storage Service

Method:
1.The self-service storage lockers in the South Gate Tourist Center: Open an unused locker, set a one-eight-digit pin and press “#” key to confirm the lock. Pick up your belongings by entering the preset pin and pressing “#” key to unlock the locker. The self-service storage lockers in the West Gate Tourist Center: click on “storage” button on the digital screen, select the size of lockers, take away the bar code paper, and put your belongings into the pop-up lockers. Pick up your belongings by scanning the bar code paper. If the bar code paper is lost, or the pin is forgotten, please turn to the front desk staff for assistance. 
2.If the belongings are too large or the lockers are full, you can contact the front desk staff at the Tourist Center for storage.
Both methods are free of charge, so visitors can travel light and enjoy a pleasant journey.

Visitor Convenience Facilities

The West and South Gate Tourist Centres provide free visitor convenience facilities including strollers, wheelchairs, umbrellas, walking sticks, sewing kits, and microwaves to ensure your comfortable visit. If you have questions about facility usage or borrowing procedures, please feel free to consult our on-site staff, and they will assist you with the necessary procedures to ensure smooth access and a delightful park experience.

Free Visitor Convenience Facilities

Free Drinking Water
Water dispensers are set up in the park, some of which also provide free warm water. Because of the limited storage capacity of dispensers’ tanks, if there is no water, please consult the onsite staff to get water from the nearest one.
Water dispenser sites: South Gate Tourist Center, South Gate Clinic, Charm Theater, Moon Giant Panda Nursery House, No. 2 Enclosure for Red Pandas, No. 1 Giant Panda Villa Bus Stop, Bamboo Tower, Rising Sun Giant Panda Pavilion at Infinite Hill, Restroom at Full Moon Giant Panda Pavilion, West Gate Tourist Center, Infinite Hill Clinic.

Rest Area

There are rest areas at both the West and South Gates, which provide free books and newspapers for visitors to read, which can only be read in the area only.

Nursing Room

There are Nursing Rooms at both the West and South Gate Tourist Centers, which provide diaper pads, diapers, milk warmers, disinfectant wipes, and other supplies for mothers and babies. For assistance, please contact the front desk staff of the Tourist Center.

Lost and Found

If you lose personal items while visiting the park, you may proceed as follows:
Emergency Measures
1. If you realize you have lost an item, please contact the staff at 028-83507814 and describe the item’s features, the location where it was lost, and the timeframe in detail, so that the staff can assist in the search.
2. Alternatively, you may proceed directly to the Tourist Centre, where our staff will assist you with the registration. Please provide detailed information to facilitate future search.
Information Acquisition and Lost Item Retrieval
1. If any found item matches your description, our staff will notify you at the first opportunity via your provided contact details regarding the pickup time and location.
2. You can also follow our official WeChat account. The platform releases a monthly notice of unclaimed items, and you may contact us for retrieval as instructed in the notice. 
Meanwhile, we encourage everyone to promote the spirit of mutual assistance. If you find any lost item within the park, please hand it over to the nearest park staff or bring it directly to the Tourist Centre. Your kind act will help prevent losses for other visitors and contribute to a warmer and more harmonious park environment.
 

Sharing Facilities

To enhance visitors’ experience, the park now offers shared strollers and power banks (designed to assist families with young children and ensure power supply for electronic devices). For doubts regarding the usage, rental, or return of these facilities, our on-site staff will gladly provide detailed guidance, ensuring you enjoy every moment in the park.
 

Medical Services
The Panda Base has set up dedicated clinics (first-aid stations) for visitors. These facilities are staffed with full-time medical workers and equipped with medical supplies such as daily-use medications and emergency stretchers, as well as other basic medical facilities and equipment, ensuring strong emergency response capabilities.

Meanwhile, the contact number for the clinics is publicly listed on the WeChat Official Account, mini-program and panoramic map of “Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding”. Furthermore, the Base has signed a cooperation agreement with the nearby “General Hospital of Western Theater Command PLA” to provide visitors with more specialized and timely medical support.
