During the 2023 winter vacation, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding successfully held the “FUN Winter Vacation” Public Science Population event. Themed on the giant pandas conversation and their environment protection and focusing on special giant panda stars (i.e. giant pandas He Hua, Jin Bao, Qi Yi, Cheng Gong, etc.), this event explained knowledge related to giant pandas by way of speeches. Then, visitors learnt how to distinguish giant pandas, participated in the interactive game “Blast Puzzles” and detected our giant panda stars. Such form of science popularization not only attracted visitors’ eyes with popular IP and encouraged them to fully engage in the game, but also enhanced their impression on the knowledge and helped them improve their awareness of environmental protection. This event, which tourists sufficiently engaged themselves in, is well-received by them, with strong and interesting atmosphere for popular science.
