The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding launches an Interactive Science Popularization Interpretation Activity of the “Panda Story”

 After several months of planning and preparation, the interactive science popularization interpretation activity called “panda story” was officially presented to visitors during the Science and Technology Week in 2020. This activity combined nature interpretation with the giant panda theme. In addition, full-time science popularization teachers and volunteers of the Panda Base served as interpreters during the event. At several locations in the park of the Chengdu Panda Base, they presented real-time and live interactive science popularization interpretations on multiple topics. which has not only included biological knowledge on the characteristics, habits, adaptability, growth and reproduction of giant pandas and red pandas, but also integrated the work of breeders, environmental enrichment, animal behavior training and other conservation work achievement display. The objective of the activity was not only to enrich the experience of the visitors, but also to permit the public to acquire scientific information about pandas intuitively and easily, get the right understanding of the status quo of endangered wildlife, and learn how to appreciate and understand nature. Moreover, the activity encouraged the public to be responsible travelers, calling on them to change their behaviors, choose sustainable lifestyles, protect the environment, and build a harmonious ecological home for the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games.
