Good New from Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding: Fraternal Twins Born in 2018
 

At 8:20 a.m. on the morning of June 5, 2018, Ya Yun, a giant panda from the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, successfully gave birth to fraternal twins. The elder one is a female with a birth weight of 135.3g, and the younger one is male with a birth weight of 148.8g. Currently, the mother and babies are all healthy and stable.
This is the first time that Ya Yun has given birth. On May 3, she began eating less. At 3:09 a.m. on June 5, her amniotic fluid broke. She gave birth to the first baby at 8:20 a.m. and to the second at 8:29 a.m. Ya Yun inherited the merits of her mother Ya Ya. That is, her maternal instinct is extremely strong. When the babies were born, she quickly picked them up and cleaned them.
Giant panda Ya Yun was born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on September 10, 2010, the youngest of Ya Ya’s children who is known as the Princess of the Asian Games.
